  • O's, 'Cats, T-birds compete at league tennis meet

  • Augusta's and El Dorado's tennis teams had a rough outing at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. III-IV tournament.
    The Orioles and Wildcats faced each other in all four of the seventh-place matches. Jacob Lowery got the Orioles' lone win of the day with a 9-3 win against El Dorado's Logan Stenseng in the No. 1 singles flight.
    In No. 2 singles, Ryan Wilson beat Davyd Ledgerwood 9-3 for the Wildcats. El Dorado's No. 1 doubles team of Harter-Thomas and No. 2 team of Barrett-Anderson also got wins against Augusta.
    Circle High School's Tony Treweeke had the best day of any Thunderbird. He took third place with a 6-1, 6-3 win against McPherson's Gallagher Martin in the No. 1 singles flight.
    Dalton Record won the fifth-place match against Winfield's Steven Deere in a super tiebreaker 9-8 (7-5) for the T-birds. Circle's No. 1 doubles team of Beihler-Adams took fifth place with a 9-4 win against Wellington.
