  • MCPHERSON — El Dorado faced an uphill battle coming into Tuesday’s doubleheader at McPherson’s Grant Sports Complex.
The Bullpups were on a roll, having lost just twice in the previous eight games. Plus, it was senior night for McPherson, which, added all together, equaled a big night, as MHS cruised to 15-0 and 16-1 wins over the Wildcats.
McPherson put up a pair of inside the park home runs to open the game in the first inning, then scored six runs in each of the second and third innings to enact the three-inning run rule.
Logan Morrow took the loss for El Dorado (0-15), though, due to technical issues, stats were unavailable for game one.
Game two saw more of the same, as McPherson seemed to score at will and won 16-1 in four innings.
Mikala Ruff went three innings in the circle for El Dorado, giving up 13 runs on 11 hits. She walked three. Destiny Bowlin worked the final inning, giving up three more runs on five hits.
Morrow had the only two hits for the Wildcats, as she went 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in El Dorado’s only run off a single to left field that scored Bowlin in the third inning.
The Wildcats are back home Thursday, as they will face Buhler beginning at 4:30 p.m.
