  • Elks to host Kid’s Safe Night Out

  • The El Dorado Elk’s Lodge 1407 will be hosting their annual Kid’s Safe Night Out Friday.
    It will be an evening full of activities from 5 to 8 p.m. at the First Christian Church Parking Lot.
    The event promotes child safety and drug awareness in the community. The evening includes games, hot dogs, pizza, pop, the rollover car, Kansas Highway Patrol seatbelt convincer, Smoke House, Drug Prevention Trailer and more.
    There also will be prize drawings for the different age groups. The drawings will be: for ages 1 to 3 at 7 p.m., ages 4 to 6 at 7:20, ages 7 to 9 at 7:40 and ages 19 to 12 at 8 p.m.
    In addition to the Elk’s Lodge, the event is sponsored by area merchants, law enforcement, El Dorado Fire Department, emergency communications, Emergency Medical Service of Butler County, Kansas Highway Patrol and the Department of Wildlife and Parks, as well as many volunteers.
