Kids helping other kids
During the month of April, Holly Crawford, a member of the Awana Club, which is a Ministry of the Benton Church, headed up a Community Outreach Program with kids from the community ranging from pre-schoolers to sixth graders to collect stuffed animals for law enforcement.
The kids donated the collected stuffed animals to Butler County Law Enforcement Officials on April 30 for them to take back to their departments. A lot of the kids involved with the Outreach Program gave up their own stuffed animals so other kids in the community may be able to enjoy them.
Patrol Officers can use the stuffed animals on calls involving children as a means to ease stressful situations and to help officers build a rapport with the children involved.
