  • The Butler Community College Board of Trustees met Wednesday morning in the office of Dr. Kim Krull, Butler president.
The special meeting was called in order to accept the resignation of Trustees Candace Kunkel and Jim Wilson.
Kunkel, the current secretary of the board of trustees, resigned in order to move into the vacant Trustee District 2, position 2 seat, which was vacated by the resignation of Sara Hurd earlier this year. The resignation was moved by Trustee Tom McKibban and the motion was carried 4-0. The appointment of Kunkel to the District 2, position 2 chair was moved by Trustee Greg Joyce and the motion was carried 4-0.
After accepting the resignation and the assignment of Kunkel, McKibban moved to approve the resignation of Wilson for District 2, position 5 effective May 14, shortly after the May Trustees meeting. Wilson announced he and his family would be moving to Florida for an undisclosed reason.
Finally, Krull announced the terms of the two positions from which the Trustees resigned would expire July 1 of next year and all newly appointed positions would require re-election following that date.
With reservations, Joyce moved and the motion was carried 4-0.
