The Bluestem Lions baseball team swept the Medicine Lodge Indians 7-2 and 14-4 to improve its season record to 10-4. Game 1 was pitched well by John Stiger, who allowed two earned runs through six innings and struck out 13. Stiger moves to 4-1 on the season.

Cooper Minnick came in to pitch the 7th and struck out all three batters he faced.

Stiger was 2-for-3 at the plate and Minnick was 1-for-2. Jacob Warren went 2-for-2 and Casey Garner was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Game 2 was started by Dakota Clift, who struck out five through two innings before being relieved by Nick Saia, who was credited with the win. Minnick threw the final two innings.

Offensively the Lions came alive by putting up six runs in the fourth inning to take control. Minnick went 3-for-3 at the plate.

The Lions will play Douglass Thursday in Leon in a Butler County area doubleheader showdown.
