  • The public has the chance to purchase hand-crafted piñatas created by Augusta Middle School art students.
The piñatas are on display at Playa Azul, 710 W. 7th St.  in Augusta, now through May 4.
All piñatas are made from paper mâché and are ready to be filled with candy! A silent auction will be held during this time with a minimum bid of $10 per piñata. Bids will be collected in ballot boxes and the highest bidder will be contacted when the auction is over.
All proceeds go to Project Jai Play, a local special project fund committed to providing soft surface playgrounds that are safe and accessible for all children. This is the second year for this event. Last year, AMS artists raised $500 for PJP! They hope to surpass that amount this year. Please support the young artists of our community and help them raise funds for a good cause. Auction winners will be able to take their piñatas home on May 5 (Cinco de Mayo).
