A wind shift pushed a controlled CRP burn into a shelter belt and threatened a farmstead.

A controlled CRP burn got out of control Wednesday afternoon after a wind shift and threatened the Don Bergner residence two miles east and one mile north of Pratt. The wind pushed the fire into a small shelterbelt and onto the very low mowed grass around the house. Township 12 Firefighters quickly got the fire under control with no damage to the house or shelterbelt.
