Sheryl Ann “Sheri” Holthus, 60, of McPherson passed away at 6:55 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 while in the company of family members at McPherson Hospital.
 Sheri was born in Imperial, Neb. on May 2, 1953, a daughter of Donald Lee and Iola June (Rouselle) Egle.
 Sheri attended Eden country school near Stratton, Neb. and graduated from Stratton High School. She then attended  one year at Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne, Ind. and transferred to McPherson College, McPherson, where she graduated and received her bachelor’s degree in home economics education.
 Sheri started working in 1975 for NCRA as a mail clerk, worked for Sterling Drug and for Johns Manville in the Human Relations Department. In 1981 she took on her favorite roll as a mom and became a full-time homemaker.   She later worked for a time as a graphic designer for McPherson CopyRight.  
 Sheryl A “Sheri” Egle was united in marriage to John G. Holthus on June 2, 1974, at Imperial, Neb.  The young couple established their first home together in McPherson.
 Surviving family members include her loving and devoted husband of almost 40 years,  John Holthus, of McPherson; her children, Hannah Reasoner and her husband Scott of Fort Worth, Texas, Heidi Tankersley and her husband Jacob of Springdale, Ark., Henry Holthus and his partner Erica of Fayetteville, Ark., Nathan Holthus of McPherson, and Daniel Holthus of the home; her parents, Iola and Donald  Egle of Bella Vista, Ark.; her siblings, DeWayne Egle and his wife Deborah of Davisburg, Mich., Donna Sawyer and her husband Steve of Red Oak, Iowa, and Lonnie Egle and his wife Anna of Bentonville, Ark.; her favorite grandchildren, Andrew J. Tankersley, Joely G. Tankersley, Eli S. Reasoner, and Issac J. Reasoner; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
 Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson.
 The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson,  with Reverend Jon Black officiating.
 The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
