  • Famous coach Vince Lombardi once said, “Quitters never win and winners never quit.”
The reward for winning is found in perseverance. How do we persevere?
There is a blessing for those who overcome this life. James writes, “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12).
Did you catch that? The blessed man is the man who perseveres under the trials of life.
Perseverance builds character. So, says Paul, “...we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance, and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.” (Romans 5: 3b, 4).
When we stay the course, overcome the trials of life, we learn patience under trial - character building, which gives us hope.
Perseverance is the single characteristic that shapes our lives.
John Croc, founder of McDonald’s was once quoted as saying, “...perseverance is the single most important quality in building a team.”
Rick Pitino, coach of the Louisville Cardinals basketball team concurs “Great people, great teams and great companies have one common denominator - perseverance.”
Satan wants us all to fail and to quit. God seeks His people who never quit or give up, but persevere towards an eternal reward.
    Keep on keeping on!
