The ESF has been in existence since 2011 and serves as a nonprofit organization
The El Dorado Sports Foundation (ESF) is about to kick off its fundraising campaign.
The ESF has been in existence since 2011 and serves as a nonprofit organization with its sole purpose of enhancing the El Dorado sports programs. Over the past three years, the ESF has given more than $20,000 to USD 490 sports programs, which has been made possible by the generous support and donations from the community.
The sports programs require funding they are unable to get through traditional school budgets for weight equipment, practice equipment, travel gear, clinics and other supplies. Through memberships and fundraising events, the ESF will provide additional resources to can assist the school district sports activities and reduce the burden on the athletic department. With these efforts, the ESF hopes it will be an incentive for more students to participate and promote a winning image throughout the district and community. The ESF also hopes to develop a post-secondary scholarship program.
The ESF asked the graphic arts department at the El Dorado High School for assistance in the development of a foundation logo. Bob Risch, EHS graphic arts teacher, was glad to help and asked students, if they wanted to participate, to come up with a logo. The ESF Board of Directors voted on the logo’s submitted and chose one designed by Logan Troxell, EHS senior. The ESF gave a donation to the graphic arts department and to Troxell for the work on the logo design.
On April 16, the ESF will begin their fundraising kickoff. The board of directors kindly requests support in this foundation, which will not only enhance the future of sports programs in El Dorado, but also continue to shape the lives of our kids who live in this city.
