Consider membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, a volunteer women’s service organization.
Do you have a Revolutionary Patriot in your family tree? Do you want to make a difference in your community preserving American’s heritage? Do you want to secure America’s future through better education for children?
Those who answered yes are encouraged to consider membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, a volunteer women’s service organization.
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership. DAR volunteers are willing to provide guidance and assistance with your steps in to the world of genealogy.
An informational workshop is planned for 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Bradford Memorial Library, 611 S. Washington, El Dorado. Refreshments will be served.
It will offer information about the DAR and volunteer genealogists will be available to talk with people about their interest in joining and steps they will help people take. For more information, contact Marsha Dekker, registrar, Susannah French Putney Chapter, DAR, at 316-321-6707.
