Fill the trailer fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tractor Supply Company.

The Butler County Animal Response Team will be holding a fill the trailer fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tractor Supply Company, 10025 SW Diamond Rd., Augusta.
They will be accepting donations for their response trailer, as well as handing out information on disaster preparedness and informing people how they can create their own disaster kit and take care of pets in a disaster, as well as how to provide identification.
"We basically have a list of supplies we need," said Janell Jessup, with the Butler County Animal Response Team. "Anything pet oriented: dog leashes, bowls, wire pet crates. We also have had people donate towels and rugs that we use for bedding, cleaning supplies of all kinds. We try to have a medical pet first aid kit in the trailer."
They decided to hold this fundraiser in Augusta to help spread the word about what they do.
"We want to let the rest of the county know we are out there," Jessup said. "We had some new members join from the Rose Hill area and we are trying to get out there and make people aware we do exist."
In addition, thanks to a Project Impact grant from Butler County Emergency Management, Eric Thompson, with Code 3 Associates, will present a large animal rescue class and animal decontamination class to BuCART team and other southcentral regional animal response team members later this year.
Anyone who wants more information on how to volunteer or make a donation can contact Jessup at Donations can also be sent to Butler County Animal Response Team, %Butler County Emergency Management, 2100 N. Ohio, Suite B, Augusta, KS 67010.
