Individuals, organizations and businesses are invited to showcase their green thumbs by designing, planting and tending one of Augusta’s downtown planters for all to enjoy. There are a limited number available (53), so plan a pot and submit an application early.
The important dates to remember for the contest:
    • March 28-April 25: Applications accepted
    • April 28-May 2: Application review and assignment
    • May 3-19: Plant containers after frost possibility has passed
Pots will be assigned based on a person’s desired location, date of application and availability.
Pots will be evaluated for attention to weeding, arrangement and overall health and beauty of the plants. At the end of the season (October), the City will remove all plants from the pots.
Prizes to be awarded include: first place - $250; second place - $200; and third place - $150.
