  • Robert "Bob" Eugene Carey, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Augusta on Saturday, March 15, 2014.
    Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at GracePointe, 3626 N. Ohio in Augusta. Interment will be at 3 p.m. that afternoon in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kan.
    Bob was born Dec.6, 1950, to Hurschel and Virginia (Warwick) Carey in Coffeyville. He graduated from Augusta High School and served his country in the United States Navy. Bob was a Veteran Service Representative for the Veteran's Administration. He also was a house painter and carpenter. Bob was a talented musician and enjoyed nature, fishing and he loved his pets.
    His survivors include: his sisters, Sherrie (Howard) Johnson and Tammee (Randy) Yates, all of Augusta; ex-wife and best friend, Bonnie Ruggles of Augusta; sister-in-law, Tina Carey of Anthony; nieces and nephews, Justin (Emily) Carey, Michelle Carr and Kevin Carey. great-nieces and great-nephews, Contessa and Austin Carr, Katie and Chris; great-great-niece, Alexis Carr.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry Carey.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Robert Carey Memorial Fund, in care of Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
