Geraldine Deloris “Jerry” Cheney, 91 of El Dorado, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Andover Court.

Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. A graveside servicewill be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Garden of Remembrance in Pittsburg, Kan.

Jerry was born on Dec. 20, 1922 in Cherryvale, Kan., the daughter of Earl I. and Mary M. (Kelley) Merrick She graduated from high school and lived in El Dorado since 1951. She was hospital food service supervisor at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital and retired after 25 years. She was a member of First Christian Church; BCC Life Enrichment; Rebekah’s; a member of Good Sam’s Club; Meals on Wheels; Women’s Bowling Congress; CWF at the Church; sang in the Church choir; loved to sew and embroidery; garden; bowling and in raising her children.

Those who survive include: her children and their spouses, Barbara Lomax, of Topeka, Bonnie and Jack Estell of Arkansas City, Roger and Karlyn Fanska, of West Des Moines, Iowa, Joyce and Todd Millard of Leon, and Billy and Sheila Fanska; 10 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Willard Fanska, Raymond Anderson, and Howard Cheney; a daughter, Sandra Robinson; five brothers and sisters; and a grandson, David Robinson.
