El Dorado standout senior basketball player Travis House has accepted an invitation to play in the South Central Kansas All-Star game. House a 6’2” senior guard for the El Dorado Wildcats has a career average of 14.7 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game and 1.6 steals per game. The SCK All-star game is slated for March 16 at Pratt Community College. “Travis was a three year starter and played four seasons at the varsity level for El Dorado, his career stats would indicate that he is one of the top players to have played at El Dorado High School in the past 25 years,” said EHS head coach Gary Melcher. House has had a storied career for the Wildcats on the hardwood. House has been a three year starter for El Dorado at point guard. As a sophomore House was a Bluestem Classic all-tournament team selection, he was also a first team AVCTL Division 3 selection along with a 4A All-State Honorable Mention nod. As a junior House was selected to the Irish Classic all-tournament team. He was also named to the Bluestem Classic all-tournament team and named the tournamen Most Valuable Player. For the second consecutive season he was named to AVCTL Division 3 first team and was 4A all-state Honorable Mention. Thus far as a senior House had been named to the Irish Classic all-tournament team and named the most valuable player. House was named to the Bluestem Classic all-tournament team, named the top player and was the top free throw shooter. “Travis is a young man with impeccable character,” said Melcher. House has helped the Wildcats to a 11-9 season and will take on Circle in substate play on Friday. House plans to play basketball at Butler County Community College after high school. When House is not playing basketball he enjoys playing golf with his father and his friends. He also enjoys watching and playing any sports.
