Due to Westar’s recent rate increase, the City’s energy provider has imposed an increase in power costs to the City. As a result, commercial customers could experience an average monthly increase of $50 on their utility bills. Residential customers could experience an average monthly increase of $10 on their utility bills. The monthly increase could fluctuate higher or lower based on your usage on a monthly basis.
The increase will begin on the March 15, 2014 billing. The increase will be reflected in the EFA amount listed on your bill. The EFA is a calculation based on power costs that is then multiplied by actual kilowatt usage. If you have questions about your utility bill or how the EFA is calculated contact the Utility Office at (316)775-4555.
