  • Rose Hill saw their season come to an end after a 52-29 loss to Mulvane in the first round of sub-state action.
After beating the Lady Wildcats on Homecoming last month, the Lady Rockets could not have seen Thursday’s result coming. Rose Hill finished the season with a record of 7-13.
The game started out much like the previous matchup that went Rose Hill’s way. The teams were tied at 6-6 before Mulvane went on a 13-0 run bolstered by back-to-back three pointers by KaSandra Melick.
Autumn Lipscomb kept Rose Hill in the game with a three and several baskets driving through the lane. The Lady Rockets were plagued with foul trouble as Paige Decker and Mackenzie Herman each picked up their third foul in the second period.
Mulvane led 32-14 at halftime and 42-18 after three periods.
The Lady Wildcats will face Wellington in the Sub-State finals at 6 p.m. Saturday in Rose Hill.
