Douglass' boys basketball team is seeded No. 2 in the Class 3A Eureka sub-state tournament and will host its first-round game Monday, March 3 against Bluestem. The Bulldogs had a 14-5 record while the Lions, who are seeded No. 7, have a 4-16 record.

Other first-round games include top-seeded Eureka (20-0) against No. 8 Belle Plaine (2-18), No. 4 Collegiate (13-6) against No. 5 Fredonia (7-13) and No. 3 Independent (14-6) against No. 6 Conway Springs (7-13).

The semifinals and championship game will be played March 6 and 8 in Eureka. Times are to be determined.

In the girls bracket, Douglass is the top seed with a 14-5 record and will face winless Bluestem at 6 p.m. Monday, March 3 in Douglass for their first-round match-up. Other first-round games are No. 4 Fredonia against No. 5 Eureka, No. 2 Conway Springs against No. 7 Belle Plaine and No. 3 Independent against No. 6 Collegiate.

The semifinals are March 7 and the championship game is March 8.
