  • The Spring storm season is drawing closer, so it’s time to start thinking about severe weather preparations and safety during hazardous weather conditions.
The National Weather Service is once again delivering their “Storm Fury” presentation around the region, and they’ll be in Butler County in just a couple of weeks.
This year’s Severe Weather Awareness/ Storm Spotter public education event in Butler County is being sponsored by Butler Community College and will be held at 10 a.m. March 1 at the Hubbard Welcome Center at the El Dorado Campus, Butler Community College, 901 S. Haverhill Rd.
Those attending will be able to learn more about safety during severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, the science behind the storms and lessons learned by trained spotters… some who got too close.
The event is open to the public and offered free of charge. There is also no pre-registration required.
