Former Augusta Chamber Director Kent Overaker will serve 12 months on probation
Former Augusta Chamber Director Kent Overaker will serve 12 months on probation for his theft from the chamber last year.
Overaker was sentenced Monday morning in Butler County District Court.
He was sentenced to serve six months in the Kansas Department of Corrections, with 12 months post-release, and may earn up to 20 percent good time credit, but was granted 12 months Court Services Probation, all standard conditions of probation. He also has one day jail time credit, has to pay the costs of the case, complete 40 hours of community work service and provide a written apology to the victim. The restitution assigned to the defendant totals $13,400.
He was charged with obtaining or exerting ownership of unauthorized property with a value of at least $1,000, but less than $25,000, which is a felony.
