Partnerships between business, economic development, local government and, in some cases, volunteers grease the wheels of progress in El Dorado.
One example is the recent renovation and “reimaging” of John K. Fisher Cadillac Buick GMC car dealer in El Dorado. The activity at the business at 2670 W. Central is more than a facelift. Construction completed in December was meant to create a new image for the dealership. The construction project included updates to the interior, exterior, service area and parking lot.
The significant investment in this project indicates the brand and ownership’s willingness to remain in the El Dorado community for years to come. The facade design is standard to many of the updated dealerships in the area, but the customer service within is something that cannot be replicated.
This project is a great example of the City of El Dorado, El Dorado Inc., and business working together to find solutions and resources that could make this major reimaging project a reality, therefore retaining jobs and retaining a valuable service provider within our community.
Linda Jolly, executive director of El Dorado Inc., commented, “It’s not often that projects we work with are so visible. Reimaging of this dealership made a significant impact of the appearance of the west entrance to El Dorado. It’s rewarding to work with a business that so passionately wanted to remain in the El Dorado community.”
