  • The Douglass Lady Bulldogs absorbed their second loss of the year in a 35-33 physical battle with Trinity Academy.
The teams struggled to get offenses going as whistles were few and the defenses controlled the game. Douglass held a 24-20 halftime lead and extended that to 30-24 after three.
But the Lady Bulldogs only scored three points in a decisive fourth quarter where Trinity scored 11 in a row to take the lead and the win.
The 11-0 run for the Lady Knights featured a few good breaks that Douglass couldn’t overcome. A 3-pointer ricocheted in off the backboard and a free throw rattled in off the glass as Trinity seemingly couldn’t miss.
Douglass is back in action at home Tuesday against Bluestem.
