  • Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF), based in Newton, announced in 2013, $42,196 was awarded through the Central Kansas Kids FUNd grant cycle. Applications for the 2014 grant cycle are now available through Feb. 28.
This year the L. Marie Haun Charitable Fund for Children and private donor gifts will provide funds for the Central Kansas Kids FUNd grants. From 2005 through 2013 the Sand Creek Pro Am provided initial support to this fund, making an incredible impact to children’s programs. Organizations serving children in the Harvey County or any of the CKCF affiliate regions are eligible to apply.
“Again this year priority will be giving to projects and programs that reflect the intention of the Marie Haun Charitable Fund for Children,” said Sandra Fruit, executive director of CKCF.  “Haun had clear intentions related to her legacy supporting children’s behavioral research, child welfare, teaching parent skills and/or programs strengthening families.”
Applicants may apply for up to the maximum of $5,000.
To qualify for funding, organizations must qualify as a 501 (c) (3) entity under the Internal Revenue Service Code, and must return a completed application no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 28.
