  • Augusta’s bowling teams came up on the short end of the scoreboard against tough McPherson squads Tuesday afternoon at The Alley in Wichita.
The girls team was close, but McPherson got off to a hot start and held off the Orioles for a 2315-2172 victory.
Katy Nordman still put together an impressive day for the Orioles’ girls team. Nordman started Game 1 with a 256 and closed with a 257 on way to a 688 series. McPherson’s Crystal Nutter was the closest to Nordman with a 648 series.

On the boys side, the Bullpups had a huge middle and final game to overtake the Orioles 2641-2488.
Augusta’s loss came despite a huge day from Andrew Orocio. He topped 200 all three games and nearly pulled off a perfect Game 3. He finished with scores of 217, 211 and 288 for a 716 series to lead all the boys. Joel Morey led McPherson with a 667 series.
