Robert “Bob” Dean Haaga, 85, El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in Wichita.
Visitation with the family present will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Doardo. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1929 in Atlanta, Kan., the son of Homer and Alberta (Tomlin) Haaga. He completed the ninth grade, then went to work farming. On Oct. 22, 1949, Bob and Kate Taylor were united in marriage in Douglass. In 1957 the couple moved to El Dorado, where they purchased the grain elevator and operated it as Taylor Grain until 1985. From 1985 to 2007 Bob drove a truck for Wynne Transportation. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Club, Eastern Star, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those who survive:his wife, Kate of the home; daughters and their spouses, Deann and Chuck Korte, Augusta, Janett and Bob Doile and Christi and Vernon Dutcher, all of El Dorado; 6 grandchildren, Damian ( Jenelle) Korte, Kim Braungardt, Dallas (Sally) Korte, Travis ( Christy) Doile, Tracy ( Skip) McHatton, and Brad Dutcher; 22 great-grandchilden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
