  • Wildcats win short dual at Rose Hill

  • In a relatively short dual due, to thin rosters, the Wildcats defeated the Rockets in Rose Hill 27-15 Thursday night for a league victory.
    In the first match of the night in the 132-pound weight class, El Dorado's Dacota Motter squared off with state ranked Jake Wilson. It was a match that went the distance with Wilson coming away with a 9-6 decision victory. Rose Hill led El Dorado 3-0 after the first bout.
    At 138 pounds, the Wildcats' Daniel Thomas regained the lead in El Dorado's favor by defeating Hunter Black by pin at 3:15. The match win put the Wildcats up 6-3 after two matches.
    The Rockets answered in the 145-pound class with Jake Lewis defeating the Wildcats' Cody Hancock by pin at 2:21 into the match. Rose Hill regained a 9-6 advantage.
    Wrestling at 152 pounds, El Dorado's Kody Melugin gave the lead back to the Wildcats defeating Quentin Geren by pin 1:59 into the bout. El Dorado went up 12-9.
    At 160 pounds, El Dorado's Gage Armstrong kept the momentum going for the Wildcats by winning in a 5-2 decision over Kyle Loecke. El Dorado now stood at a 15-9 advantage.
    In the final bout of the night, at 170 pounds., El Dorado sophomore Matt Triboletti got a pin victory over Christian Polk at 1:10 into the bout to seal the victory for the Wildcats.
    Rose Hill's Ashtyn Cody got a win by forfeit at 182 pounds. and El Dorado's Jacobb Burnett got a win by forfeit at 285 pounds for the Wildcats.
