Augusta's girls basketball game at Clearwater Tuesday night looked eerily similar to last year's sub-state championship game.
Defenses were physical and points were hard to come by.
For the Orioles, though, points were harder to score. Augusta only managed two points in the first quarter as the Indians controlled the game from start to finish on way to a 38-22 victory.
Like last year's sub-state championship, the Orioles had no answer for All-State standout Bryna Vogel. She scored the game's first five points and the Indians' first 11 points. Vogel finished with a game-high 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Casady Marlnee finally got a chance to get going in the second half, but most of her soring opportunities turned into trips at the free throw line. Marlnee finished with five points to lead the Orioles.
Brooke Eberhardt scored four points. Kylie Wesbrooks had three points. Carly Sears, Bailey Reichardt, Nicole Becker and Baylee Johnston all had two points. Katy Nordman had one points.
Augusta returns to action Friday night at home against Rose Hill for Homecoming.
