The Clearwater boys basketball team gave Augusta all it wanted in Tuesday night's game.

The Indians led by as much as seven points in the third quarter behind hot 3-point shooting. But Augusta stayed the course and slowly climbed its way back to take the lead. Late in the fourth quarter, Kyler Steinkamp scored on a backdoor layup on a pass from Chaydon Carter to give the Orioles a 58-56 lead. The Indians missed a crucial free throw down the stretch and the Orioles didn't as they went on to win 63-58.

With the win, Augusta improves to 5-2 on the season.

Both teams stroked 3-pointers early in the game. Neither team led by more than four points in the first half.

Carter had one of his best games of the season. He buried two 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.

Augusta started the fourth quarter down by six points, but Connor Hurst, Carter and Steinkamp all scored during an 11-4 stretch. Hurst, Steinkamp and Dustyn McEachern both made key free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
