  • Basketball round-up: Douglass boys, Circle girls win

  • Chaparral lead Douglass's boys basketball team 55-54 with 1:50 left to go in Tuesday's game. Chase Banister then drained a 3-pointer, and the Bulldogs held the Roadrunners scoreless the remainder of the game for a 62-55 win.
    Banister scored a game-high 26 points; he made five 3-pointers along the way. John Gardner scored 12 points and Drew Chadic scored 11 for the Bulldogs.
    - Circle's girls team got a big league win against Andale at home by beating the Indians 49-42.
    The Thunderbirds' defense held Andale to eight points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Circle was 8-of-17 at the free throw line in the quarter.
    Caylie Kifer led Circle with 11 points. Katie Frankenbury added 10 points for Circle.
    - Wichita Trinity's boys team romped Bluestem 58-29. Brett Elsen made seven field goals and led the Lions with 17 points. Stephen Muckenthaler added six points for Bluestem.
    - Andale's boys team handled Circle 55-43 Tuesday night. The  Indians are the top team in Class 4A.
    Dylan Driver scored two 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 17 points for the Thunderbirds. Paul Richard scored eight points and Kaden Fowler added five points for Circle.
