  • Rose Hill girls win, El Dorado boys win overtime nail biter

  • The Lady Rockets cruised to a 62-32 win over the Lady Wildcats. El Dorado went down after the first 16 minutes of the game 29-19. Rose Hill extended their lead in the third quarter to lead the Lady Wildcats 42-27. The Rockets ignited for 20 points in the fourth quarter to pace the Wildcats in the blow out victory. In the night cap the El Dorado boys were able to avenge the girl's defeat by winning by the slimmest of margins in a 48-47 overtime victory. The Wildcats earned an 11-7 lead over Rose Hill after the first quarter and extended their advantage to 24-15 going into halftime. Rose Hill got within two buckets heading into the final eight minutes of the game with the score at 35-31. Both teams battled throughout the fourth quarter and Rose Hill took the lead at 38-35 midway through the quarter. El Dorado regained the lead with a three-pointer by Johnstone Scott with a minute to play at 44-42. Rose Hill answered and tied the game at 44 with under five seconds remaining in the game. El Dorado was unable to score and the game went to overtime. The Wildcats got a three-pointer from Travis House to start the overtime period and had several free throws that would finished the game. Alec Hildreth was fouled on a play and went 1-2 from the line which proved to be the game winner. Rose Hill had two shots at the win in the final seconds but the initial shot and put back attempt did not fall for the Rockets.
