  • Wow, what happened to the Augusta downtown Christmas lights and decorations? In years past, downtown Augusta always looked so festive with lights and a HUGE Christmas tree all lit up. Over the years it has become so blah. Even when it’s not Christmas time, the new street lights almost make the area look like a “ghost town.” So sad that the downtown spirit of the holidays is a thing of the past.

I want to wish the new Augusta city manager a very happy New Year and a new beginning for him here in Augusta. With some relatively new council members, perhaps they can focus and work together for the good of the citizens of Augusta. Good luck to all!!

Congratulations to the new owner of the Holiday Bowl. Looks like they are trying to open a family entertainment center for Augusta and the surrounding are to enjoy. Ok! Let’s get out and support them so they will stay open and give our children and families a place to go for family fun without having to drive to Wichita or El Dorado.
