  • Terry Dean Ohmie, 57, of El Dorado, passed away on Sunday, Dec.29, 2013, at his home.
    Visitation with family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Carlson Funeral Home. Celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Cremation will follow the service.
    Terry was born on March 31, 1956 in Wichita, the son of Irwin and Louise Ohmie. After graduating high school he served in the United States Marines from 1974 to 1981. He was an auto mechanic and loved woodworking, riding horses, dancing, mechanics, motorcycles, food and spending time with his grandchildren. He had lived in El Dorado since 2001, living in Leon previously.
    Terry was united in marriage to Debbie Powers on Aug. 28, 1999 in Wichita.
    He leaves: his wife, Debbie of 14 years; his children, April Miller of Benton, David (Heather) Wright of Webster City, Iowa, Angelia Wright of El Dorado, Josh (Julie) Wright of Wellington, Melissa Wright of El Dorado, Amy Fox of Emporia, Terri Lynn (Willie) Willson of Suppesville, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; brothers, John (Karla) Ohmie, Robert (Barbara) Ohmie all of Wichita; sisters, Marcia (John) Ashton of Wichita, Kathleen (Scott) Hasenbank of Belle Plaine, Wanda (Mike) Decker, Cheryl Ohmie all of Phoenix, Ariz., Beth (Steve) DiSilvio of Phoenix, Ariz, and his mother, Louise Crump, also of Phoenix, Ariz.
    His father, Irwin and sister, Else Ohmie preceded Terry in death.
