The Arc of Butler is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2014.
Organizers are holding a five-course gourmet dinner on Feb. 15 at the El Dorado Civic Center.
Chris Burke, Corky of the “Life Goes On” TV series, will speak. The Butler Headliners will perform and David Sundgren will auction 20 items in a live auction with a silent auction going on during the evening.
In addition, the Arc is honoring Neil Benson who is one of the founders of the Arc of Butler.
As part of the Arc activities the Benson family was instrumental in starting the annual Arc tennis tournament.
The tournament was named in memory of Page and Dirk Benson, Benson’s late husband and son.
Neil has given countless hours of her time in the development, leadership and participation in the many programs of the Arc. She still attends Board meetings as an honorary emeritus member.
Nancy Olson, executive director of the Arc, said, “We encourage folks to buy the $75 tickets to keep the Arc and its programs going, especially Special Olympics, honor Neil Benson, and to also provide a great Valentine evening out for your favorite Valentine.”
