The smallest margin of victory for any of the four Augusta boys middle school basketball teams against Haysville was 19 points.

The largest was 37 points.

The Bluejays continued their torrid start to the season with easy wins against Haysville last week. The 8th-grade A team got the biggest win at 42-19. The Bluejays were led by Noah Johnson, who outscored Haysville on his own with 20 points.

Jonny Clausing scored eight points, Blake Bevan added six, Clay Wesbrooks and Colton Barnett both added four points while Jake Swink, Luke Price and Grady Tole all chipped in with two points apiece. Tyler Johnson scored one point.

The 7th-grade A team also got a big win by beating Haysville 56-29. EAston Leedom led the Bluejays in scoring with 20 points. Zac Burton scored a dozen points. Cole Johnson scored eight, Chase Sharp added seven, Blake Altenhofen chipped in with six points, Ceetyn Anderson had two and Corbin Parker had one points for Augusta.

In B team action, the 8th-grade team won 43-15. Dyln Stevenson led the Bluejays’ charge with 13 points. Seth McGuire scored seven points for Augusta. Easton Brown and Coban Honey both added five points apiece, Shea Dennett and Barnett both scored three points apiece. Tyler Smith, Price and Swink all had two apiece. Tyler Johnson one for the Bluejays.

In the 7th-grade B team’s game, Roman Swartz and Geoff Geier both scored seven points apiece to lead the Bluejays to a 33-14 victory. Jake Tucker and Trevor Gray both scored four points. Cade Zerr scored three points. Noah Dalrymple, Braden Lowe, Dennis Armani and Anderson all added two points for Augusta.

The Bluejays will return to action in January after Christmas break. Their first game will be Thursday, Jan. 9 against Goddard-Eisenhower.
