Glenda E. LaCoursiere, 90, passed away December 12, 2013 at a Hamilton, Missouri nursing home. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time the day of the funeral. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Glenda was born December 1, 1923 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and Etta Mae (Wright) Baker.
She graduated from high school and then spend many years as a nurses aid in private home until her retirement.
She married Donavan LeCoursiere in Desota, Kansas, he preceded her in death.
Glenda was a longtime Leavenworth bartender and enjoyed dancing and having a great time. She enjoyed crocheting, and was always there for her grandchildren. Don and Glenda would travel down to Brownsville, Texas during the winter months for many years.
She is survived by five daughters; Rose Gaff of Leavenworth, Yvonne Smart and her husband Jim of Apache Junction, Arizona, Erma Pace of Hamilton, Missouri and Velva Brown of Everest, Kansas, one son; Jesse Collins of Lawton, Oklahoma, two sisters; Pansy Oberhelman of Warsaw, Missouri, and Laola Burke of Kansas City, Kansas, one brother; Clayton Baker and his wife Anita of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three children, and one sister; Mary Schafter.
Pallbearers will be Jesse and Joshua Collins, Henry Brown, Aaron Wattenbarger, Willie Hon, and William Caylor.
