  • Wildcats open Irish Classic with win over Sacred Heart

  • The 2013-14 EHS Wildcat boys basketball season got underway on Tuesday in Chapman and it couldn't have gone better for El Dorado. The Wildcats opened the season with a 52-45 victory over Sacred Heart. El Dorado succumbed to an early deficit falling behind after the opening eight minutes to Sacred Heart 13-8. The Wildcats clawed back in the second frame outscoring Sacred Heart 13-9 in the quarter but still trailed 22-21 at the halftime break. El Dorado came out of the break charged. The Wildcats took the lead in the third outscoring Sacred Heart 14-11 in the quarter to lead 36-32 heading to the fourth. The Wildcats saved their best for last and scored a game high 17 points in the final frame to Sacred Heart's 12 points to complete the comeback victory at 52-45. The Wildcats were led in scoring by senior guard Travis House who had a game high 21 points with a three pointer and going 6-7 at the charity stripe. El Dorado's Jared Haury had nine points going 1-2 from the line. Isaac Johnson and Wes Haines each added six points. Johnstone Scott added five points and Alec Hildreth had four points.
