None of Augusta's middle school girls basketball games were even close Monday home.

The Bluejays dominated every game against Haysville West at home Monday. Augusta used balanced scoring and suffocating defense against Haysville teams that were not strong on offense.

In the 8th-grade A game, the Bluejays led 14-0 after the first and kept the shutout alive until halftime. Augusta went on to win 45-6.

Madison Wheeler led the Bluejays with 16 points, including two 3-pointers. A total of 10 players scored for Augusta in the game. The team improves to 3-0 on the season.

The 7th-grade A girls won 30-14. Haysville scored just two points in each of the second and fourth quarters.

Jayden Marlnee scored all of her team-high 10 points in the first half. Mackenzie Kirk hit three baskets and finished with seven points. Raine Harman scored six, Nataleigh Cantu scored three and both Cali Anderson and Kourtney Divine chipped in with two points apiece.

The 7th-grade B team smothered Haysville West to the tune of a 33-1 victory. The 8th-grade B team also got a big win.

Augusta will face a tough foe in Andover Central on the road Thursday.
