  • The Augusta Arts Council presented “A Storybook Christmas” Gala Sunday afternoon at the Augusta Historic Theatre. The audience was treated to holiday music by local talent and professional talent, as well.
    Dave MacAdam was Master of Ceremonies and was assisted by Michelle Spainhower.
    Augusta High School Concert Choir members were joined by director Rachel Simmons in some holiday songs.
    Augusta High School student Ari Chandler sang “Silent Night” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful.”
    Aubrey and Grace Stueven sang “White Christmas” and Aubrey offered “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
    Augusta Middle School student Collin Clark sang “Christmas Shoes” and “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
    Everyone’s favorite Augusta native and professional performer Monte Wheeler sang “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” and “No Place Like Home.”
    Wheeler was joined by Wichita entertainment veterans Angela Geer and Christi Moore.
    Showcased solos were a powerful “Oh Holy Night” by Geer and a beautiful “Silver Bells” by Moore.
    Accompanists were Kay McCollom and Emily Deaver.
