A longstanding Augusta tradition kicks off on Friday when the Augusta Lions Club’s Gary Dryden Memorial Christmas tree lot on West 7th, next to Ace Hardware, opens for business.
It’s time to select that perfect tree in a pine-scented maze with strings of white Christmas lights dancing in the winter wind.
Leave the artificial tree packed away and create a new tradition. And at the same time honor the late Gary Dryden, local businessman and Lion member who loved Christmas.
There is an assortment of Scotch Pines, White Pines, Fraser Firs, Balsam Firs and Douglas Firs from which to choose.
The tree lot will begin selling trees this Friday and will be open all day. Regular hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
