  • In accordance with K.S.A. 79-306e, the owner of record must provide the Butler County Appraiser with documentation of an acquisition or sale of a watercraft on or before Dec. 20 of the year of such acquisition or sale to be eligible for pro-ration.
State law K.S.A. 79-304 requires all tangible property to be listed with the County Appraiser on or before March 15 of each year to avoid filing penalties. If the Appraiser’s Office discovered and placed your watercraft on the tax roll a filing penalty will also be assessed. If the watercraft was acquired after Jan. 1 the owner of record must provide a bill-of-sale showing the purchase date to justify the removal of the filing penalty.
