Mickie Jo Adams, 49, was gently carried home Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, when the Lord wrapped his arms around her. Mickie Jo was born Aug. 29, 1964, in Joplin, Mo. She is a lifelong resident of Easton, Kan. Her favorite pastimes included attending to her plants and flowers, watching football, fishing, watching the birds and butterflies, scripture reading, sharing her Love for Christ with others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mickie Jo was preceded in death by her father, James Moody; her grandmother, Helen Dale; cousin, Larry Moody, and grandmother, Pearl Munch. She is survived by her mother, Geri Moody, of Easton; sisters, Lori Heintzelman and family; Overland Park, Cindy Simington and family of Hutchinson; her brother, Jim Moody and family of Easton. She is also survived by her children, Amy Jo Johnson, Eudora, son in law, Jeremy Paul Johnson of Eudora, sons, Russell Adams of Easton, and Hunter Adams of Leavenworth. She also leaves behind three beautiful grandsons, that were the apple of her eye, Elijah Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, and James Rolen. The family would like to express their gratitude to all Mickie Jo's friends and family! A special thanks to those who took the time to minister and visit Mickie Jo and to those who reached out and helped take care of her in her final days and to all those who kept her and our family in prayer! Visitation open to all will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, 4701 10th Ave. Leavenworth, Kan. There will be private graveside service for family only, officiated by Pastor Michael Garner. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Mickie Jo.
