  • ANDOVER—Regan Peare had gone to all the camps when she was younger.
Now she'll be able to play for Wichita State when she gets to college. Peare, a senior at Andover High School, signed a letter of intent to play for the Shockers in 2014.
"It's a relief, it's exciting," Peare said. "It's weird to think that it's set in stone now. It's coming up fast. This year has already flown by."
Peare put together an impressive season for the Trojans. She had 336 kills and finished with a .303 hitting percentage and a 44 kill percentage this season. She totaled 143 stuff blocks, 464 assists and 40 ace serves. She was named the MVP of the Trojans' home tournament and led them to a fourth-place finish at the Class 5A state tournament.
Peare was named All-League First Team and AVCTL-Div. II MVP.
Peare said she mostly will play at the setter position for the Shockers. She's looking forward to working with her future teammates and staying close to home.
"I love my incoming class that I'm going there with," she said. "It's my hometown, so I'll be able to play in front of my hometown crowd. It'll be fun."
Peare hasn't decided what she'll study.
Peare's parents are Val and Dan Peare.
