Augusta's volleyball team finished the regular season with a 7-29 record and will be seeded No. 4 in the Andover Central sub-state tournament. The Orioles will play top-seeded Circle (25-12) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
No. 2 Central (24-14) will play No. 3 El Dorado (17-20). The winners of the two matches will play for the sub-state championship.
Andover plays in Kapaun sub-state
The Andover volleyball team is No. 3 and will play No. 6 Wichita Heights in the first round of the Kapaun sub-state bracket. The winner will play the winner of the Valley Center-Salina South match.
No. 1 Douglass hosts sub-state tournament
The Douglass Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed for their home sub-state tournament Saturday. They begin with a match against No. 8 Bluestem (1-26), then play the winner of the Collegiate-Belle Plaine match.
In the other half of the bracket, No. 2 Neodesha (18-15) plays Caney Valley (3-29) and No. 3 Fredonia (11-19) plays No. 6 Eureka (4-22).
Rockets top seed in Mulvane
Rose Hill will compete against Mulvane, Wellington and Winfield in the Mulvane sub-state. The Rockets are No. 1 in the bracket with a 29-8 record. The other three teams all have losing records.
