Jeanice R. Lewis, 52, of Augusta, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 in Wichita. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and service will be at 1 p.m. Saturda, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Jeanice was born in Phillipsburg, Kan., on April 7, 1961, to the late Naomi Louise (Snider) and Robert A. Bybee. Jeanice worked as an assistant court clerk for the City of Augusta and had been a bookkeeper for Knebler construction. On June 24, 1978 she was married to Dennis Lewis in Augusta and he survives her. She is also survived by: sons, Tony Lewis and Mike Lewis and wife Priscilla, all of Augusta; brother, Robert Thornton of Shell Knob, Mo.; grandchildren, Caleb and Callie Lewis; step-mother, Gerri Bybee; uncles, John and Lyla Bybee, Merle and Lucille Snider, Jim and Florence Bybee; aunts, Ann DeHoff and Jeanne Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Christopher Alan Lewis, and brother, Dale Bybee. Memorial donations to Potwin Christian Church.
