  • El Dorado High School sent their first doubles team to State since 1999 but came back empty handed over the weekend.
The girls doubles team of Tiffiny Nguyen and Maddie Armstrong went 0-2, losing to McPherson first round 6-1, 6-1, and Parsons 2nd round 9-1.
"They were disappointed that they didn't come back with a win after having a great week of practice but being juniors, they now have that hunger of wanting to return," said EHS head coach Kent Kunkel.
"I'm very proud of their accomplishments and hard work to get to that point and they're already making off-season plans to improve for next year."
The AVCTL Div. III and IV was well represented at the State meets as McPherson won the 4A title.
Buhler and Winfield took 5th and 6th in 4A respectively and Wichita Collegiate School was the champion of the 3A division.
The Lady Wildcat netters finish out the season with their tennis banquet 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the North Main Pizza Hut.
