Two freshmen and a first year coach doesn't sound like a recipe for a great 5A tennis team.
But for Andover, that recipe cooked up a State Championship.
Jessica Ball took over the young team this year. The team topped annual power Bishop Carroll 40-38 thanks to a state championship performance by freshman Dohee Lee and a fifth place finish by freshman Grace Ball.
Abby Kaff and Abby White took fifth place in the doubles bracket to help build the Trojans' championship point total.
Lee didn't lose a set during the competition Saturday and Sunday. She even avenged her one loss of the season in the finals.
