When Douglass lost Austin Titus for the season to a knee injury, the Bulldogs' offense needed someone to step up to make keep the team on track.

Friday night, they found just the man for the job. Rip Fraley, a junior running back, carried the ball 30 times for 259 yards and three touchdowns and one extra point carry in the Bulldogs' 32-0 win over Chaparral.

Douglass was methodical on offense, scoring eight points in each quarter. Their defense was tough and hit on big plays when they needed them.

Fraley got the scoring started in the first quarter with an 18-yard touchdown run. John Gardner punched in the extra point carry for an 8-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Drew Chadic got a carry and busted through a hole for 17 yards. He dove into the end zone to finish the run and extend the lead. He also had his number called on the extra point to give the Bulldogs a 16-0 lead at halftime of the Homecoming game.

Fraley got the second half off to a good start when he carried the ball on the first play of the half and seemed to be stopped before spinning away from defenders and sprinting 64 yards for a touchdown. Chadic got his second two-point play to make the score 24-0.

Fraley finished the scoring early in the fourth after a Chadic interception gave the Bulldogs the ball deep in their own territory. The drove for more than six minutes before Fraley punched in a five-yard touchdown run. He finished the scoring with a two-point play to make the score 32-0.

Chaparral seemed to have something going in the second quarter after a fake punt got them a first down and a personal foul call improved their field position.

But Nick Broyles and Braiden Seals made huge plays to cut the Roadrunners off short of scoring position.

Fraley had more yards rushing at 259 than Chaparral had total yard with 197. Douglass finished with 356 yards rushing and 421 yards total. Banister was 2-for-7 for 65 yards and one interception.

The 4-3 Bulldogs are at home again next week against winless Belle Plaine for Senior Night. A win would put them in the plays and guarantee a winning record for the regular season.

They travel to undefeated Conway Springs in the final week of the regular season.
