Masie Jean James, 82, Ardmore, Okla., and a long-time El Dorado resident, died on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Mercy Hospital, Ardmore. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives from 2 to 4 Sunday afternoon at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Masie was born on Sept. 22, 1931 in Bergman, Ark., the daughter of Francis and Agnes (Boling) Mitchell. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950, and on Dec. 25, 1953 she and Buddy James were married in El Dorado. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1994.
She was a member of Lake Country Church of Christ and loved bowling and fishing.
Those who survive are her children and their spouses, Mike and Debbie James of Lone Grove, Okla., and Lisa and Curtis Blankenship of Marionville, Mo.; a brother and wife, James and Linda Mitchell of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Kent and Renee James of Mansville, Okla., Michael Blankenship of Marionville, Mo., Kelli and Matt Castleberry of Yukon, Okla., and Michelle Blankenship and Amanda Blankenship, both of Marionville, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Madison James, Garen Castleberry, Michael James and Rylen Castleberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy; son, Marc; brother, Peter Mitchell; sister, Nadine Sutton; and grandson, Shawn.
